After Christmas Program Dismissal Plan What will your children be doing? · Students will return to their classrooms after the program ends. Parents, please come directly to the classrooms and collect your children. · Teachers will remain in the classrooms until normal dismissal time,12:15, with any students who will be riding the bus or walking. PLEASE NOTE: If you would like your child to be dismissed to walk home on his or her own immediately following the program, you must send a note to the teacher. Otherwise we will keep the children until 12:15, when the crossing guards will be on duty. Parents of Bused Students · If you plan to drive your children home after the program, please notify Liz Childs so she can compile a list for the bus drivers. We don’t want to hold the buses here while we try to determine whether a child went home with his/her parent. Thank you. Gail Simons |

Good Traditions Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go a year without Christmas? Imagine you fell asleep in November and then woke up on January 1. How would it feel to miss all of the Christmas events, the parties, the worship services, the decorations, the gift giving and so much more that makes December such a busy and exciting time? When you think about it, Christmas captivates our attention, our time and our earnings to an amazing degree. Why do we keep doing it? One reason is the incredible power of tradition. Whether we recognize it or not, most of us really like traditions. Birthdays, our favorite TV shows, summer holidays, Santa Claus, Christmas trees, in many households it would just plain feel wrong to skip putting up the tree. Growing up with four brothers and two sisters, I can tell you how important it was each Christmas morning to march down the stairs together to a living room tree sprouting from piles of presents. Traditions can build loving bonds in families and the Christmas traditions in our community can do the same to bring people together. Traditions we adopt at Christmas are especially important when they connect to the truths of our faith and bring them to life. By having our traditions fit closely to the true story of Christmas and the real reason for the season, we are twice gifted. Not only do we get those lovely nostalgic good feelings that come with giving and receiving presents, at the same time, the Lord sends us priceless internal gifts that rejuvenate our spirits and last far longer than whatever lies beneath the wrapping paper. In ancient times, even before the first Christmas, people knew from word passed down by Divinely guided tradition that our Lord would come to earth to bless us. May your family’s Christmas season be enriched through the blessings He wishes for you. PBS |
