KidStuff Coupon Books

In addition to the usual $25 coupon books, we have some on SPECIAL SALE for $10 each.  The books on special are just missing an IKEA coupon, but they still have all the other wonderful money saving coupons in them.  We will return the excess books mid-December.  So take advantage of the offer while you can - they make a nice Christmas gift!

Coupon books are available from Liz and Peb.

Text Box: NEW SOUND?
Heilman Hall has a whole new set of Microphones, cords, stands, and other accessories! Actually these have been in use for some time. This new equipment is available because of funds provided from last year's Cabaret. Thanks to Kelly Asplundh and her crew of Cabaret workers, as well as all those who participated in, contributed to, or attended the cabaret.   Thank You

Good Things for Kids

This weekend I will put aside my BACS Principal’s hat for a couple of days and don my artist’s hat.  I will be participating in the BAC Craft Sale (as will several BACS teachers.)  People sometimes ask me how I have time to string all those beads, and I usually reply that I must find the time because this is my “therapy.”  I truly feel that I am a better educator when I nourish the artistic side of my life.

As many of you are aware, your children receive wonderful educational experiences in the arts at BACS, both in art class and music class as well as in various theatrical opportunities large and small.  While there is much emphasis, these days, on academic achievement as a barometer for future life success, it is important to remember that dabbling in the arts, in one form or another, can bring beauty and joy that enhance the quality of that future life success.

We know from the Writings that we are “so created by the Lord that (we) may create uses of delight.” (SD 2506)   Fostering the use of the imagination in self-expression through the arts nurtures our souls and helps us embrace the Lord’s creation.

The works of the Lord are great,

Studied by all who have pleasure in them.

His work is honorable and glorious,

And His righteousness endures forever,

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered . .

Notes from the Nurse

Head lice have resurfaced at BACS. Several cases were detected this week. The grade affected received a formal notice on Wednesday. This note serves as a reminder to ALL parents to check your children’s heads on a regular basis. Only through regular checking and reporting of cases when they occur, can we eliminate them from our school. Please refer to the parent letter and informational packet that was sent home on September 12th for tips on prevention, detection, treatment and elimination of these pests. (If you would like another copy, please call Liz).

Feel free to call me with any questions at 215-947-4086 X225.
